-foot with normal healthy skin, no visible lesions, no sign of DD
M0 - leave them alone!!

-focal active, red-grey foot lesion less than 2cm
M1 - non antibiotic spray (chelate copper-zinc gel/salicylic acid powder)
What grade n how u treat?
-Acute, bright ulcerative painful lesion on foot
M2 - spray licenced AB (Oxytet)
What grade n how u treat?
-Healing, painless lesion post topical treatment to foot
M3 - leave it alone he bing chilling

-Chronic, non painful lesion of foot

-Chronic but with new lesion developing within chronic lesion on foot

What should you footbathe with?
Copper sulphate or formaldehyde
What are the risk factors for digital dermatitis?
Hygiene
Biosecurity
Lack of or poor foot bathing
Moisture
Spread on equipment
Floor surfaces
What normally causes BDD?
Treponema anaerobic spirochetes bacteria
What are specific signs of interdigital necrobacillosis (foul)?
Damage to skin, sudden onset lameness moderate-severe, hot, inflamed, painful foot, spilt in interdigital space with pus and necrotic tissue which smells
What is interdigital necrobacillosis caused by?
Fusobacterium necrophorum (gram neg)
What is the treatment for interdigital necrobacillosis?
Wash and flush, debride necrotic tissue, parenteral antibiotics for 3-5 days (Oxytet)
Risk factors for interdigital necrobacillosis?
Abrasions to foot, poor hygiene, warmth and moisture
Risk factors for claw horn lesions?
Standing surfaces/times, calving, digital cushion thickness
How to treat claw horn lesion?
Trim, block sound claw, anti inflammatory
