When did Sweden join the EU and why hadn’t Sweden joined before?
Sweden joined the EU 1995. They felt that if they would join the EC, their neutral status as a country would be neutralized. It was thought of as a Western Cooperation, which Sweden did not want because they were neutral. As the Berlin Wall (?) fell, it became clear this was not the case and it resulted in Sweden being able to join.

Why did it fail?
The failure of the Euro which came after a dozen year was not an accident. What really caused a failure could be the implementation of the Euro to a big amount of countries. 11 out of 15 countries implemented it. Some countries which who also was in Fragile condition.

Consists of 79 countries (ACP = African, Caribbean & pacific group of states) main objective is to lower poverty and develop a sustainable development of the member states. EU and ACP are cooperating with various matters within these countries (political security, military security & economic stability)

What was the White Paper?
A White Paper is an persuasive essay or report that uses facts and knowledge to promote a certain viewpoint, product or service. It can also be defined as a policy document. It is made to help readers understand issues, solve problems and make a decision by providing useful information. If talking about a specific White Paper, you can mention the White Paper of 1939. It was a policy paper issued by the british government. In this White Paper they came forth with a lot of key provisions, for example the idea of partitioning Palestine was abandoned.

Explain how the Lisbon Treaty changed the way the EU works.
The Lisbon Treaty changed a bunch of matters within the EU. Some significant changes include the move from unanimity (united/unanimous decision making) to majority voting in at least 45 of the policy areas, in the Council of Ministers. Also, a stronger European Parliament forming a two-chamber legislature, parallel to the Council of Ministers, under the regular legislative procedure and also the establishing of a long-term president of the European Council as well as a ”High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs Charter of Fundamental Rights”. Lastly, the Treaty of Lisbon gave member states, for the first time, the legal right to actually leave the EU as well as a developed process for them to do so.
