Inflation Rate - INDIA

Inflation rate is defined as the rate at which prices increase over time, which results in a fall in the purchasing value of money.​

In terms of monthly, consumer prices went up 0.94%, after a 1.43% increase in April.​

The annual inflation rate in India increased to 7.79% in April of 2022, the highest since May of 2014, and above market forecasts of 7.50%.​

Over the past years, the inflation rate for consumer prices in India moved over the past 60 years between -7.6% and 28.6%.
