Rule - unawlful applicaion of force to the person resulting in either bodily injury or offensive touching
- need not be intentional
- force need not be applied directly
- general intent crime
assault
- an attmept to commit battery OR
2. the intentiional creation, other than by mere words, reasonable apprehension of imminent bodily harm
aggravated assault
assault plus one of the following
- use of deadly or dangerou weapon
- w/ intent to rape, maim or murder
false imprisonment
unlawful confinement of a person without his valid consnet to a bounded area
note - fi there’s an escape route, it’s not confinement element
note - one’s consnent precludes this crime
kidnapping
confinement of a person w/ either some movement or napping or concealment in a ecreate place
rape

is a strict liability crime, meaning consnt of V is no defense
mistake of fact is no defense
