Animalistic imagery - sends connations of Othello being ‘inferior’

What does animalistic imager link to?

A

Shakespeare might have used the animalistic imagery of describing Othello to dehumanize him - leading to central ideas of race superiority of the time this play was written, and societal opinions on inter-racial relationships. Can relate to Iago’s petty motivations seeming inadequate - deep rooted racism is implied with Iago’s hatred.
