Meningitis symptoms?
non blanching rash
stiff neck
photophobia
cold hands and feet
unresponsive
difficult to wake
high pitch cry
A and E referral
MMR symptoms?
Measles - rash behing ears and face, inside of cheeks then trunks and limbs
Mumps - Hamster face
Rubella - pink red macular non confluent rash
MMR how long are they staying off school?
M - 4 DAYS AFTER RASH
M - 5
R - 6
Chicken Pox (Varicella Zoster Virus) symptoms
small red spots to infectious blisters then crusts
fever sore throat up to 3 days before
who to refer in chicken pox?
adult
under 4 months
Treatment for chicken pox?
calamine lotion
crotamiton
chlorphenamine
paracetamol
Tamsulosin requirements?
45-75 years
over 3 months presentation
give 2 weeks then further 4 weeks if helping
see gp in 6 weeks then every 12 months
Avoid in hypotension
