MMR symptoms?
Measles - rash behing ears and face, inside of cheeks then trunks and limbs
Mumps - Hamster face
Rubella - pink red macular non confluent rash
MMR how long are they staying off school?
M - 4 DAYS AFTER RASH
M - 5
R - 6
Chicken Pox (Varicella Zoster Virus) symptoms
small red spots to infectious blisters then crusts
fever sore throat up to 3 days before
who to refer in chicken pox?
adult
under 4 months
Treatment for chicken pox?
calamine lotion
crotamiton
chlorphenamine
paracetamol
Tamsulosin requirements?
45-75 years
over 3 months presentation
give 2 weeks then further 4 weeks if helping
see gp in 6 weeks then every 12 months
Avoid in hypotension
Scabies treatments?
Permethrin (2+): 8-12 hours then 7 days later
Malathion (6months): 24hours then 7 days later
treat everyone
return to school after first treatment
Cystitis symptoms?
dysuria
incomplete emptying
urge frequency
dark cloudy smelly urine
cystitis referral?
u16 and over 70 men more than 2 in past 6 months (3 in a year) duration over 48hours ADR: Allopurinol, cyclophos diabetes, pregnancy
cystitis treatments?
potassium citrate (not with hyperkaelimics)
sodium citrate (not with BP or lithium)
TWO DAYS !!!
Amorolfine counselling?
18+ 2 or less nails 9 -12 months toes 6 months nails once weekly avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Psoriasis symptoms?
silver scales
well defined edges
red plaques
Tinea infections referall criteria?
face or scalp
broken skin
immunocompramised
