Is characterized by enforcement, monitoring, planning and control. Change is designed logically and systematically.
e.g. improving safety measures, more supervisors etc.
Yellow-print (thinking)
Means to enforce change through socio-political ideas about organizations. This type of thinking assumes that people change their standpoints only if their interests are taken into account. Change is seen as a negotiation, and is achieved by forming coalitions.
White-print thinking (evolution)
Views that change is always happening and we don’t have control over it. Within this theory change managers study change and do not influence it. It’s determined by desire and intrinsic motivation therefore people will guide themselves.
