This happens after referral. This can include chart reviews, medical review, checklists, observation in classroom, clinic, or hospital. This process is usually quick and easy to administer such as ACL screening tool.
Screening
This includes using standardized assessments such as Peabody developmental motor scales, functional independence measure (FIM), or sensory profile. Assessments need to be used word for word and step by step.
Evaluation
This occurs after evaluation. This needs to be client centered and have 4 levels: adjunctive, enabling, purposeful, and occupation based.
Intervention
This is the initial step in the intervention. Is usually used to prepare the patient for meaningful activity and are often seen in the acute care setting. Education, physical agent modalities, and resources are used at this level.
Adjunctive
For people 65 and older
People under age 65 with black lung disease and permanent kidney failure
People under 65 with other long term disabilities
People under 65 who have received social security benefits for at least 24 months
