what are the treatment options for osteoporosis?
A
WHO recommendation
- nutrition
- lifestyle changes - alcohol and smoking are risk factors for fragility fractures
- falls assessment
- medications - bisphosphonates - for 5 yrs - don’t measure BMD in this time
- vitamin D and calcium

what are the risks associated with bisphosphonates?
A
- atypical fractures
- jaw osteonecrosis
- GI upset
- MSK pain
