It has a smooth facet that articulates with the transverse process of the corresponding rib and a non-articular part which is rough and is the site of attachment for the lateral costotransverse ligament.
Describe where the groove for the subclavian vein and groove for subclavian artery and the scalene tubercle are situated on the first rib?
From proximal to distal; groove for subclavian artery then scalene tuebrcle and then more distal (closer to sternum) is the groove for subclavian vein.
