CONDYLE
A knuckle shaped articular surface
Usually present at the extremity of the bone
EPICONDYLE
a relatively small projection arising from/ adjacent to the condyle of the bone
FOSSA (FOSSAE)
a small/ large depression on the bone
HEAD
an expanded and nearly rounded articular part of the bone, usually present at the proximal extremity of a long bone
NECK
the constricted part immediately below the head
CREST
an elongated elevation on the bone (not that prominent)
PROCESS
a large projection
LAMINA (LAMINAE)
a thin plate
FACET
a small articular surface (generally flat or slightly concave in nature)
FOVEA (FOVEAE)
a small pit or cuplike depression on a bone or organ
FORAMEN (FORAMINA)
any opening or perforation through a bone/ into a bone
SPINE
a slender or pointed projection (generally along the length of a bone)
LINE
a faint elongated elevation on a bone (similar to a crest)
SULCUS (SULCI)/ GROOVE
an elongated depression on any bone. (passage of the tendons and muscles)
TROCHANTER
a very large prominence on a bone (always non-articular for muscle attachment)
