OCD of the navicular: more common in boys between 3-6
Signs and symptoms of kohlers
medial arch pain, walks on lateral side of foot
leg-calve perthe dz
OCD of femoral head -most common OCD, the younger the child, the better the prognosis
pain to knee is common, gneralized groin pain, limping
osgood schlatter dz; common cause
ocd of tibial tuberosity, most common in boys between 10-15 yrs. caused by excessive traction on patellar ligament
Sever Dz
OCD of calcaneus caused by excessive traction of achilles tendon
occurs between 6-12 yrs (more common in pt with equnus)
conservative tx for sever dz
RICE, NSAIDS, elimination of sports, heel lifts, achilles stretching
Pt s/s with limping and lateral bowing of the leg. radiographic eval reveals sclerotic medial cortex with spurring. dx?

most common age that kohler dz occur
3-6 yrs
how is kohler dz seen on xray
flatten coin on edge or silver dollar sign
MC age for freigbergs infarction
10-18 yrs
tx for kohler dz
self limiting and recovery usually takes 2-4 yrs and ultimately resumes normal shape and density
