Q

In “Treatment of Bignathic Malocclusions with Multistage Active Force Orthodontic Movements in a Cat” By Lothamer and Soukup in JVD 2016

what is a brief summary?

A

6 month old cat with mesioverted 104 and labioverted 403 and 404. Used active force to pull 104 back – developed a root dilaceration otherwise fine. Moved within 2 weeks, left in retention for 4. Used lingual arch bar attached to molars to linguovert 404- once moved maintained in position for 3 weeks.

*unclear whether the persistent deciduous canine was 504 or 804 so unclear if it contributed

JVD 2018, Storli, Reiter

Overview

A
  • 72 Dogs with crown extensions, mean age 6 mos
  • No sig. diff in classes of malocclusion
  • Mean overall treatment time 42 days
    • Graded on severity as well 1-3. 1 required only mild tipping, 2 required moderate tipping, but only tipping!, 3 required more complicated movements.
