Ortho Lab 3 Flashcards
Please construct a URA to reduce OJ 21,22,11,12 and reduce OB
Active component - 22,21,11,12 Roberts retractor - 0.5mm HSSW and 0.5 I.D tubing (move anterior teeth back)
- *Stops - use these to stop the canines relapsing and moving back to original position
- 13 and 23 mesial stops 0.7mm (flattened) HSSW - passive component
Retentive - 16, 26 Adams Clasp 0.7mm HSSW - no additional anterior retention as using Robert’s Retractor
Anchorage - moving 4 teeth - alright as because they are short rooted teeth so easier to move than other teeth - unlikely to be compromised
Baseplate - self cure PMMA and FABP - OJ + 3mm - needs to be trimmed on monthly basis on palatal aspect of the tooth, follow the contour of tooth and it gives it room to allow the tooth to come back
**Don’t use PBP - as posterior not in contact and pings the upper incisors forward by the lower incisors
Adams Clasp - arrowhead?
This is the retentive part that engages into the undercut
Adams clasp - bridge?
Helps keep cheek away from the component
Gives patient an area to grip onto when removing
Adams Clasp - flyover?
Needs to be flush with interdental area
Adams clasp - leg?
Goes into palatal aspect - sit 0.5mm off soft tissue to get acrylic underneath so that it is flush
Adams clasp - Tag?
Acts as a hook to hold in position - mechanical retention
Finger spring - tag?
Encompassed in acrylic
Finger spring - Coil?
where forces are exerted from
Finger spring - active arm?
Applies force to tooth
Finger spring - guard wire?
Acts as a guide and allows finger spring to move across palate without causing harm or trauma to patient
