What is a class 2 division 1 malocclusion
Proclined upper incisors and overjet greater than 4mm
What is an overjet
The vertical space between upper and lower incisors when biting
What is an overbite
When the upper central incisors cover the labial (the front of them) by 50 %
What is class 2 division 2 malocclusion
Upper incisors can be retroclined (tipped backwards or upright)
Overbite greater than 50%
Class 3 occlusion
When the lower jaw develops further forward than normal.
Central incisors will have a Reduced overjet (top and bottom teeth can meet edge to edge) or there may be a reversed overjet/ negative overjet (bottom teeth in front of top teeth)
Anterior open bite- when the overbite is less than 50 %
What is an adams crib
Is a bracket that keeps the appliance in place by wrapping around the tooth (normally premolar or molar)
