Insertion: Lateral Aspect of the Greater Trochanter
Function: Abduction of the Hip & Small amount of Medial Rotation of the Hip
Gluteus Maximus
Origin: 1.) Iliac Crest 2.) Lateral Edge of the Sacrum and Coccyx
Insertion: 1.) Gluteal Tuberosity 2.) IT Band
Function: Extension of the Hip, Lateral Rotation of the Hip & Abduction of the Hip
Tensor Fasciae Latae
Origin: Lateral to the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine(ASIS)
Insertion: Within the IT Band(Blends directly with it)
Function: Flexion of the Hip & stabilizes the Hip and Knee
Gluteus Minimis
Origin: Between Inferior and Anterior Gluteal Lines
Insertion: Anterior Surface of the Greater Trochanter
Function: Medial Rotation of the Hip, Stabalizes the Hip & Slight amount of Hip Abduction
