Inspiration
God breathed
The Holy Spirit guides an individual to act out or write what is good and true
Imago Dei
In the image of God
Catholics believe humans are uniquely a reflection of God’s personhood and qualities
Unlike other animals, humans are rational, free and moral
Transcendence
Existing outside of space and time
God exists in a way that makes him nothing like anything else, above and beyond creation
Stewardship
The duty to care for the planet responsibly, as stewards rather than consumers
To protect it for future generations
In Pooe Francis’ encyclical ‘Laudato Si’, he says “God has entrusted the world to us”
Creation ex nihilo
Creation out of nothing
Before God created the universe, nothing existed. Only God can create out of nothing
“All things came into being through Him, and without Him not one thing came into being” John
Omnipotence
The belief that God is all powerful
“I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no God” Isaiah
