Christianity began around 2000 years ago in the Middle East, in the Provence of Judea.

Monotheistic is the belief in one god.
What do Christians believe about Jesus?
Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God and the messiah; the fulfilment of the Old Testament prophecies. They believe Jesus died for our sins, and it is through him they believe they have access to God and the afterlife.

Christianity originates from Judaism. It was a Jewish sect with very few followers in the beginning.

It is believed that Mary was a virgin when she fell pregnant with Jesus.
What is known about Jesus’ youth?
Very little is known about Jesus’ youth, the time between his birth and his time preaching in adulthood is not widely documented. Some believe he was trained to be a carpenter or a builder.
What does the Bible suggest about Jesus and preaching?
By the age of 30, Jesus had taken to preaching. He preached messages of forgiveness: ‘If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your father in heaven will also forgive you’ (Matthew 6:14 - 15) . He preached that forgiveness of past sins is the path towards righteousness.

Pontius Pilate was the fifth prefect of the Roman Provence of Judea, and was the official who presided over the trial of Jesus and ultimately ordered his crucifixion. He was in power between AD 26 to 36.
When was Jesus crucified?
Jesus was arrested and crucified in AD 33.
What happened to Jesus’ body after his death?
According to the Gospels, the body of Jesus was resurrected by God: ‘The angel said to the women… he is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said’ (Matthew 28:5 - 6).
