Yalta in February 1945 it was agreed that the society’s could have a sphere of influence and that the United Nations would be set up but there were unresolved issues on Poland. Potsdam July 1945 disagreements on the rearmament of Germany, still disagreements on Poland
What happened in 1939 and 1940 to Russia?
Stalin signed the nazi-soviet pact but in 1940 hitler invaded Russia so they began helping the allied side
What had occurred inbetween Yalta and Potsdam?
The USA had announced their first atomic bomb and the USSR had set up governments in Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia
What did Churchills iron curtain speech say? And how did Stalin view the situation?
That an iron curtain had decended over Europe and everywhere under soviet sphere of influence had no true democracy.
Stalin believed that the iron curtain was for security not expansionist tendencies as the USSR had been greatly damaged by Germany, there was more loss of life in Russia than the USA and Britain put together

What was the Marshall plan?
Aid given to Europe to improve its economy and strengthen its democracy, Stalin didn’t allow countries under soviet sphere of influence to accept this
What was Stalins reaction to Marshall aid?
To set up the Cominform-would coordinate communist activity in Europe
