Orientation The The Human Body Flashcards
Anatomy
Study of the structure of body and parts
Physiology
Study of function of body and its parts
Levels of study?
Gross (macroscopic) - large structures
Microscopic - very small only with scope
Developmental anatomy - structural changes throughout lifespan
Levels of structural organization?
Chemicals > organelles > cells > tissues > organs > organ systems > organism
What is difference between levels of structural organization?
Each following level has functions that the previous level do not. For example, muscular tissue and nervous tissue together form an organ such as the heart which is a part of the organ system cardiovascular
What happens when you have a problem at the lower level?
It adversely effects the higher level
Organ system overview? I/L NERRD MUSIC?
Immune/lymphatic Nervous Endocrine Respiratory Digestive Muscular Urinary Skeletal Integumentary Cardiovascular
