Monoecious

Dioecious
Flower has male (stamen) and female (pistil) flowers on different plants (male and female plants)
Hypogynous
Sepal, petal, stamen attached below a superior ovary
Superior ovary
Ovary of pistil sits on top or above the stamen, petal and sepal
Epigynous
Sepal, petal and stamen are attached above an inferior ovary
Inferior ovary
The ovary of the pistil hangs/ rests below the stamen, petal and sepal
“Numerous”
Used to describe when there are more than 10 parts to a set
Identify flower parts outside to inside
Sepal- petal- stamen- pistil
“Regular flower”
Individual parts are all identical in size, shape and color
“Irregular flower”
Some individual parts of set(s) are different
