Brain
The organ of the central nervous system that performs multiple integrative functions
Salivary Glands
A set of three pairs of glands around the oral cavity that secrets saliva into it
Tongue
A muscular organ on the floor of the mouth
Pharynx
The region of the respiratory tract that is located posterior to the nasal cavity, oral cavity and larynx
Trachea
Tubelike “windpipe” running medially down the throat; part of the respiratory system
Esophagus
A food chute; the part of the digestive system that transports food from the pharynx (throat) to the stomach
Thyroid Gland
An endocrine locate in the anterior neck that produces thyroid hormones and calcitonin
Heart
Medial oval structure enclosed within the pericardium
Aorta
The largest artery in the body; arises from left ventricle and delivers blood to the systematic circuit
Lung
Paired spongy organs of the respiratory system that consist of alveoli
Diaphragm
A thin muscle attached to the inferior boundary of the rib cage; separates the thoracic and the abdominopelvic cavities
Liver
The large organ in the right upper quadrant of the abdominopelvic cavity
Gall Bladder
The small, hallow organ on the posterior side of the liver that stores and releases bile
Stomach
A curved organ important in food digestion and temporary food storage
Small Intestines
A tubular organ in the abdominopelvic cavity in which ingested is digested, absorbed, and propelled
Large Intestines
A tubular organ that is the las part of the alimentary canal

Spleen
The large lymphoid organ in the left upper quadrant of the abdominopelvic cavity that filters blood
Pancreas
An endocrine and exocrine organ located inferior and posterior to the stomach
Kidney
Paired retroperitonial organs that filter the blood to remove wastes and maintain fluid, pH, and electrolytes
Adrenal Glands
Located at the superior pole of each kidney
Urinary Bladder
Hollow organ of the urinary tract that stores urine
Ovary
Female gonads; site of ova production and hormone secretion
Testes
Male gonads and testosterone production
Visceral Pleura
Lines abdominal lungs
Visceral Pericardium
Lines heart
Visceral Peritoneum
