  • Organizational Culture (E.g., Standing traditions that have lasted for years) (“semi-shared patterns”)
    o Ideologies, values, norms
    o Long-term, ingrained.
    o Foundational beliefs
    o Established traditions
    o Ex. OTs wearing reflective belts in camo uniform at OTS (established tradition)
    o Ex. Culture does NOT change from class to class at OTS

vs.

  • Organizational Climate (e.g., Stupid hand signal that fizzles out after a few months)
    o Attitudes & perceptions
    o Short-term, adjustable
    o Moods & feelings
    o Product of culture but more flexible
    o Ex. How OTs feel about wearing reflective belts at OTS (a mood / feeling)
    o Ex. Climate changes from class to class at OTS
    o You can have a good culture and a bad climate (and vice-versa)
