-rectus femoris
The 3 vastus nerve supply and action and insertion ?
Femoral nerve
Extension of the knee joint
Quadriceps tendon
Rectus femoris ( nerve supply - action - origin - insertion?
-femoral nerve
-extension of the knee joint
- flexion of the hip joint
- AIIS
-Quadriceps tendon
Articularis Genu (nerve supply - action - insertion )
-Femoral nerve
-Pull the synovial membrane to prevent it from being trapped between patella and femur during extension
-synovial membrane of the knee joint
Sartorius (nerve supply - action - origin - insertion )
Femoral nerve
- flexion of the hip
- flexion of the knee
- medial rotation of the leg
- ASIS
- Upper medial part of the tibia
Pectineus ( nerve - action - origin - insertion )
-Femoral nerve
-Adduction , flexion , lateral rotation of the hip joint (thigh)
Iliacus ( supply - action - origin - insertion )
-Femoral nerve
-Iliopsoas main flexor of the thigh
-Iliac fossa
-Lesser trochanter
Psoas ( supply - action - origin - insertion )
-Lumbar plexus
-Iliopsoas is the main flexor of the thigh
- lumbar vertebral
- lesser trochanter
Femoral triangle ( position- boundaries - roof - floor - contents )
Upper third of the front of the thigh
Base: inguinal ligament
Laterally: medial border of sartorius
Medially: medial border of adductor longus
Apex: meeting of the medial and lateral borders
Roof: skin, superficial fascia , deep fascia
Floor: adductor longus , pectineus , iliopsoas
Contents: femoral sheath , VAN , lymph nodes , sympathetic plexus around the femoral artery
Femoral sheath (walls , compartments 3)
Walls:
- anterior : extension of the fascia transversalis of anterior abdominal wall.
- posterior: extension of the fascia iliaca of the posterior abdominal wall.
Compartments :
1- lateral : femoral artery and femoral branch of the genitofemoral nerve.
2- middle : femoral vein
3- medial : (femoral canal ) lymph nodes and fat.
Medial compartments
1-muscles ( adductor longus, brevis, magnus and gracilis )
2- artery : obturator artery
3- nerve : obturator nerve
4- action: adduction, flexion and lateral rotation
Adductor longus ( origin , insertion , nerve supply , action )
1- body of the pubis
2- middle third of the linea aspera
3- anterior division of the obturator nerve
4- adduction, flexion and lateral rotation of the thigh.
Adductor brevis ( origin , insertion , nerve supply , action )
1- pubic arch
2- lower half of the linea aspera
3- anterior division of the obturator nerve
4- adduction, flexion and lateral rotation of the thigh
Gracilis ( origin , insertion , nerve supply , action )
1- pubic arch
2- medial surface of the tibia
3- anterior division of obturator nerve
4- adduction of the hip , flexion of the knee , medial rotation
