What were the 14 points?
List of 14 ideas wilson hoped would create peace and no more conflict
What was the convent?
Constitution of the league. There were 26 articles which layed out structure, rules, and procedures.
When was the league formed?
Jan 1920
What were the aims?
- international peace
- encourage disarment
- improving living and working conditions
- enforce treaty of Versailles

42 countries

USA
Germany joined later on then left again
Soviet Union

Civil service of the league
What was the assembly?
Meeting of all countries once a year
What was the council?
Smaller body of permanent members, non permanent members elected for 3 yr periods.
Who were the permanent members?
1920- Britain, France, Italy and japan.
1926- Germany as well
What was the permanent court of international justice?
Based in The Hague, offered legal support when conflicts arose.
What was the international labour organisation?
Geneva based, promoting good working conditions
What power did the league have?
Moral disapproval, economic sanctions,and finally military action
What is collective security?
All countries working together to maintain peace
What were the problems with the leagues powers?
No army
