Vacuole
It is a large bean looking organelle in a plant cell and a small bean looking organelle in animal cells. Its main function is like a warehouse. Blob shaped in animal cells
Ribosome
A small sphere shaped organelle that produces proteins and is found all around both cells and in the rough ER
Cell Membrane
The outside of the cell that controls what goes in and out
Cell wall
Only found in plant cells: Rigid strong outer wall, protects cell, maintains shape of cell
Golgi apparatus
The post office that collects, processes and packages proteins
cytoplasm
liquid part of cell, keeps organelles in place and provides structure and shape
centrioles
Always in pairs, helps with cell division
Nucleolus
The center of the cell and the nuclear parts of a cell, produces ribosomes
Nucleus
Layer surrounding nucleolus, the brain of the cell, control center, where the DNA is located
Mitochondrion
The power house, produces energy for the cell
Nuclear envelope/membrane
The outer layer of the whole nuclear part of the cell, separates the nucleus from the rest of the cell
cytoskeleton
Provides shape and helps organelles stay in places
Smooth ER
Moves proteins in the cell, DOES NOT HAVE RIBOSOMES ATTACHED
Lysosomes
Digests, and gets rid of cell waste. more sphere like than vacuoles
Rough ER
HAS RIBOSOMES ATTACHED, moves proteins around the cell
Chloroplast
ONLY IN PLANT CELLS. Makes photosynthesis.
prokaryotic
No nucleus, unicellular, usually bacteria
Eukaryotic
Has nucleus and other membrane bound cells::::: ANIMAL AND PLANT CELLS
Vesicle
Sac like organelles created by the golgi apparatus that store and deliver nutrients and proteins
