organelled of the human body Flashcards
Lysosomes
are round vesicles that contain proteins capable of breaking down complex molecules into simpler molecules.
The endoplasmic reticulum
is a network membrane involved in synthesizing lipids for all cell membranes, they are two types one is rough because of the ribosomes.
Vacuoles
are large membrane-bound compartments storing water and other substances. They are formed by forming multiple vesicles.
Cilia and flagella
are membrane-bound appendages. Flagella are longer than cilia but fewer in number.
Golgi apparatus
is a series of stacked membrane-bound sacs involved in the creation of vesicles such as lysosomes.
The nucleus
is a large organelle enclosed in the cell’s genetic material.
Mitochondria
are rod-like organelles with a double-membrane structure within the cell that provide its power.
