ABO Test
A red blood cell test that determines blood type.
This test determines which blood cell types are compatible between a recipient and Donor

PRA test : Percent reactive Antibody
Antibody screen: Blood test that determines what percentage of antibodies are formed by the inmune system.

a molecule or substance that is seen by the body as foreign
ATG
Anti- Thymocyte Globulin : medication used after transplantation to treat or prevent acute rejection.
B cell
Specialized white blood cell responsible for the body;s immunity. B cells play central roll in antibody production
Cellcept
immunosuppresive medication used after transplantation to prevent rejection ( Mycophenolate Mofetil)
Crossmatch
Used to determine if a potential recipient makes and antibody response against a potential donors antigens.
+ Positive Match: incompatible
- Negative Match: No reaction, transplant may proceed
CYCLOSPORINE
gengraf, sandimune, neoral: immunosuppresive medication used after transplantation.
CYTOSCOPY
Instrument placed through the urethra and in the bladder to see inside the bladder and remove stents
FOLEY CATHETER
Brand name of a tube that I placed in the bladder to drain urine.
