- functions include : oxygen delivery, carbon dioxide removal, sound production, helps maintain proper acid/base balance

- organs include mouth, esophagus, stomach, small & large intestines, liver & pancreas

- moves the limbs/ production of body heat
- 3 major types : skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles

- provides support and levers on which the muscular system acts
- composed of the bones, cartilage and joints
- functions include: support and protection, movement, blood cell production, mineral storage

- facilitate conception and childbearing
- controls the body by means of chemical molecules called hormones
- is affected by removal of the thyroid gland

- helps to regulate blood volume and maintain the proper balance of chemicals in the blood

- functions include: protection, temperature regulation, touch and pain detectors
