Lung Qi Deficiency
Dry cough with scanty sticky sputum, weak or hoarse voice, dry mouth and throat, tiredness, dislike for speaking, night sweats, malar flush, 5 palm heat. Tongue: normal color or red, dry, peeled, no coat, transversal cracks in lung area/Pulse: floating, empty and rapid.
Lung Yin Deficiency
Dry cough, dry voice, dry skin, dry throat, dry mouth, thirst, hoarse voice. Tongue: dry, not red yet/Pulse: empty, especially in right front (cun) position.
Lung Dryness
Aversion to cold, fever, cough, blocked or runny nose with clear watery discharge, slight breathlessness, sneezing, headaches (usually occipital), body aches. Tongue: normal (pale red, thin white coating)/Pulse: floating and tight.
Wind Cold Invasion
Aversion to cold, fever, sore throat, blocked or stuffy nose with yellow discharge, sneezing, headache, body aches, slight sweating, slight thirst, etc. Tongue: normal or slightly red in the front and on the sides./Pulse: floating and rapid
Wind Heat Invasion

Exterior dry Invasion
Cough, breathlessness, feeling of heat, chest ache, flaring of the nostrils, thirst, red face. Tongue: red with yellow coating (may be redder in the area of the LU on the tongue)/Pulse: rapid and overflowing.
Lung Heat
Chronic cough with profuse white sticky sputum, pasty white complexion, phlegm in the throat, a feeling of oppression in the chest, shortness of breath, dislike of lying down, wheezing, nausea, feeling of muzziness and dizziness in the head.
