Marine Sed: Oldest, derived from sandstone and shale. Willakenzie & Bell Pine. PN is darker. Found in Chehalem Mtns.
Volcanic: Jory clay (deeper) and Nekia (shallower). Typically brighter style & red fruited PN. Found in Dundee Hills.
Wind-blown Loess: NE hillsides mostly. Laurelwood series.
Missoula Flood Deposits: Flood sediments, fertile. Found on the valley floor and not for viticulture.
