38
Q

What happens to THS after landing?

A

It resets to zero

39
Q

Normal Law Protections

A
High Speed
High Angle Of Attack
Load Factor (+2.5G/-1G Clean / +2G/0G Flap/slat)
Pitch Attitude (30 Up/15 Dn)
Bank Angle (67 max bank)
40
Q

How does HIGHSPEED PROT works?

A

If VMO/MMO is exceeded, the system induces a pitch up input to limit A/C Speed.

41
Q

Can HIGHSPEED PROT be overridden by the pilot?

A

No while in Normal Law, pilot will have to induce the A/C in Alternate Law

42
Q

What is ALPHA MAX?

A

Maximum Angle of Attack allowed in Normal Law, and is indicated as the top of the red strip on airspeed scale.

43
Q

How does HIGH ANGLE OF ATTACK PROT works?

A

When Angle of Attack exceeds ALPHA PROT, pitch trim ceases and angle of attack is now proportional to side stick deflection, not to exceed ALPHA MAX even with full aft side stick deflection.

44
Q

What protections available in Alternate Law?

A

Load Factor

HighSpeed Stability

LowSpeed Stability

45
Q

Is there any protections in Direct Law?

A

None.

46
Q

Does Flare Mode works in Alternate Law?

A

Theres no Flare Mode in Alternate Law, the

A/C will go to Direct Law as soon as the Gear is Down.

47
Q

When does Alternate Law reverts to Direct Law?

A

Gear Extension

48
Q

When is a direct relationship between Side Stick and Flight Control Surface deflection?

A

In DIRECT LAW

When below 100feet

49
Q

In which conditions can the A/C Stall in Normal Law?

A

Faulty Radio Altimeter

Recognize Stall indications regardless of control law and recover

50
Q

Whats the purpose of Abnormal Attitude Law?

A

Allows A/C to be recovered from an unusual attitude.
And the A/C will enter in ABNORMAL ATTITUDE LAW by exceeding approximately double NORMAL LAW limits.
After abnormal attitude recovery the A/C will still be in ABNORMAL ATTITUDE LAW.

51
Q

Flying at 300kts and they pull on the side stick full back, how high will the pitch go?

A

30 degrees Up

52
Q

If the crew selected 100kts on the speed knob how slow will the A/C actually fly?

A

VLS

53
Q

What would happen if the flight crew slowly pulled thrust levers to idle?

A

As airspeed decays, the Trim-able Horizontal Stabilizer will adjust to maintain altitude.
If the angle of attack increases to ALPHA PROT the pitch function of the stick changes. Stick movement commands angle of attack instead of a load change.
Auto trimming will be inop, the side stick must be held back to go slower than ALPHA PROT.
If the pilot continuous to pull back on the side stick, the speed will get to ALPHA MAX.
With full aft the elevators will adjust the pitch attitude to maintain ALPHA MAX (in theory the A/C cant be stalled in Normal Law)

54
Q

Describe ALPHA FLOOR

A

Is a function of the A/THR, it will activate at any airspeed based of angle of attack. It will automatically apply TOGA thrust regardless of the thrust lever position. It requires to function:
At least 1 engine operative
A/THR is available
A/C in Normal Law

55
Q

What would happen if crew attempts to over-stress the A/C in NORMAL LAW?

A

Maneuver Protection will prevent crew from over-stressing the A/C

56
Q

Describe HIGH SPEED PROT

A

Flight Control Computers provide a Nose Up input to reduce Aircraft Damage, even if full forward is held on side stick.
This protection is indicated as green =
Overspeed warning when VMO is exceeded by 4kts
If side stick is released the speed will return to
VMO/MMO
When the HIGH SPEED PROT is active Bank is limited to 45degrees, control pressure is required to hold any bank angle, it is still posible to overspeed the A/C.

57
Q

When a pilot rolls into a bank, whats provided by the flight control laws?

A

Normal Law Flight Mode:
Roll control is a Roll Rate Demand, it will maintain a constant bank angle at the back angle selected by the pilot and side stick in neutral.
Roll rate is 15 degrees with full side stick deflection and 0-15 degrees in other deflection rates.
It will hold constant bank angle up to 33 degrees.
If the bank is increased past 33 degrees it can only go to max of 67 degrees, and if the side stick is released A/C will return to 33 degrees of bank.
AutoPitchTrim will be inhibited at higher than 33 degrees bank angles.
