According to OM S-5-7,
for class “A” & “B” airports, we can apply “FAMILIAR” minima.
According to OM S-8-2,
all the airports we have scheduled flights to either class “A” or “B.”

If you divert, what MNM will be applied? OM S-8-2

A

In the case of a diversion or departure after a diversion, the airport shall be treated as class “B.”
This would apply to places like PMDY, PHKO, WMKK, etc. I would therefore apply “FAMILIAR”
minima.

SICK:
Instruct CA to administer first aid.
Instruct CA to ask if any doctor or other medical personnel aboard.
if aboard, CAPT can authorize doctor/nurse to use Doctors/Resuscitation Kit
if none aboard, use SATCOM to call MedLink (16022393627)
Use onboard
doctor or MedLink’s advice to make a decision about diversion.
Instruct CA to fillout
MEDICAL SHEET.
Notify ATC and company and request ambulance standing by, if appropriate Send Quarantine Report Sheet (ACARS p. 2/2 “patient”)
After landing, submit ASR.

DEATH:
if “death” has been pronounced by doctor on board, instruct CA to record all the circumstances
and time of treatment, unconsciousness, or death.
Instruct the Station Mgr to report to appropriate authority immed.
After landing, submit CR.

Wind Shear Precaution)

  1. use max thrust
  2. use most extended flaps setting
  3. use longest suitable rwy
  4. increase Vr ***
  5. brief PM: monitor IAS, ALT, VSI
    ***Increase Vr b/c extra speed will lessen impact of a neg w/s encounter
    Use the lesser of:
    Vr for perf limiting wt (field or climb) for that rwy
    or
    Vr for actual wt + 20 kts
    (set speed bugs for actual gross wt)
    Must rotate at least 2000’ before rwy end (RL: WHITE → AMBER)
