A
unilateral swelling
any aeras where there are minor or major glands
red flags inc -> facial palsy, sensory loss, pain, difficulty swallowing, trismus, rapid growth

hx & exam
US
US guided fine needle aspiration to give histological specimen; risk of facial nerve injury if taking sample from parotid
MRI / CT can be considered
sialography
sjogren’s investigations

A
surgical excision alone if benign
facial nerve injury is a major risk
if malignant tx decided by MDT be that neck dissection, wide excision, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy
