A

Precautions

A
  1. Altered LOC
  2. Ascertain the patient’s ability to swallow an oral preparation of glucose without airway compromise
  3. Must be swallowed, not absorbed sublingually or buccally

Adults
- 15–45G for patient’s with an intact gag reflex and who are able to handle their own secretions
Pediatrics
