A

I would be constantly looking for BOTH, but if since this question makes me choose, I would hire a good pilot because if a bad employee messes up, you can counsel/discipline/fire them, but if a bad pilot messes up, people could die.

47
Q

Tell me about a time you had to make a split second decision

A

Flying with an instructor and we started getting severe icing and the instructor did not know what to do, so I took control of the plane and made a 180 degree turn and landed the airplane. He thanked me for my quick thinking.

48
Q

Have you ever have a flight where safety became an issue?

A

49
Q

Give me an example of a time when you identified a small problem before it became significant.

A

Have your own. Don’t make something up. I gave an example from my time in the business world and they were happy to accept it.

50
Q

Tell me about a time you forgot a small detail in your job and how did you handled it.

A

I have never had this happen, however to avoid this when flying we should never rush and always use check lists, if time allows it complete twice to prevent missing anything.

Tell me about a time when you did something in a plane that scared you.

A

I have practiced spins with an instructor, and developed spins

52
Q

Let them know that the procedure was still followed regardless if you disagreed with it.

53
Q

Tell me how you felt about a rule that you didn’t agree with?

A

rules are there based on historical data and for many reasons I may not know. I simply follow them. so I wont make the same mistake another pilot made.

54
Q

How would you deal with a conflict with another co-worker?

A

Calmly and rationally find a solution

(2) Comunication

55
Q

Tell me about a time you had to deal with someone who acted immorally or unethically.

A

Was told about illegal activity by an examiner. I did not report them since I had no proof, but chose to use another one.

56
Q

Tell me about a time you were working with someone else and disagreed with them

A

This has happened on many occasions. We focus on the problem without getting our personalities involved and acted in a way that is safe and followed procedures, without getting our pride involved.

57
Q

Tell me about a time you didn’t get along with a Captain

A

I did not argue or confront them, brought up any safety issues.

58
Q

What would you do if your captain was an FFDO and was handling their weapon inappropriately?

A

I would talk to him and ask him to behave according to company policies.

59
Q

What would you do if your Captain has been drinking 5 hours before departure and is still planning to fly?

A

You first want to approach the capt and give him an opportunity to call in sick, go home, call fatigue, whatever it may be. You’re a pilot. You know exactly how long its taken to get to this point, let alone get to a capt position. By simply calling the police on him you are damn near ending this guys career. They want to see that you are a team player and will think of this guy as a human and try to help him first. Obviously if he continues to persist and say he is flying no matter what you have to report it, but first you should talk to him and say this is the situation.

60
Q

What woud you do if your Captain wanted to fly through a severe thunderstorm?

A

I would talk to him and reason for best course of action by avoiding the thunderstorms.

61
Q

I go to hotel room, rest of crew goes out to dinner, couple hours later a FA shows up at your hotel door and says she was sexually harassed by the captain, What do you do?

A

I said I would try to calm her down and ask in detail what happened, then I would make sure she has settled down. I would then politely approach the captain and get his side of the story. Maybe alcohol was involved? If it was obvious in my judgement that he had offended her, I said I would unfortunately have to report the incident to AWAC HR to respect the integrity of my coworker.

62
Q

What if if a 12 year Captain wants to fly through a level 5 cell on final approach, what do you do?

A

I would reason with him to avoid this situation.

63
Q

Tell me about a time when you used your customer service skills?

A

I talk to the customers at my present job. I also ensure their needs are met at all times.

64
Q

Tell about a time that you went above and beyond with customer service?

A

Stayed past working hours to help a customer get the help they needed.

65
Q

How would you deal with a passenger who was irate about lost luggage?

A

I would listen to his complaints and help to trace the baggage, and apologize.

66
Q

We’ve all experienced times when we needed to help the team with tasks that did not fall within our normal responsibilities. Tell me about a time when this happened to you. (What did you do?)

A

Outstation handler “ran out of wheelchairs” and we had a person with a mobility disability on board. We were done for the day, and the flight attendant wanted to leave, so I stayed with the passenger until the wheelchair for 40 minutes until the wheelchair arrived. I didn’t think it was acceptable on the part of the handler to not send any personnel at least, but was happy to wait.

67
Q

Describe one of the most stressful interactions you have had with a customer. (How did you react?)

A

Was calm and patient and worked through the problem.

68
Q

Name a time you made a small mistake at work?

A

I was also asked “…and what did you do to make sure that you didn’t make that mistake again?” I had an example of a time I screwed up in the business world by letting a deadline slip through the cracks. I told them that I owned the mistake without assigning blame to anyone else, and that I then asked the other party what steps I could take to make sure that we could get back on schedule. After that project, I created a tracking system to make sure our company wouldn’t miss any similar deadlines in the future.

69
Q

Name a time you had to deal with a difficult person?

A

I’ve had difficult clients in the business world. While you can’t deviate from your normal procedures to placate them, it’s important to remember that clients are the lifeblood of any business.

70
Q

What would make you a good pilot for Air Wisconsin?

A

Pride in professionlism at all times, in-depth knowledge of company procedures, regulations, and manufacturer documents, personable and easy to get along with, love aviation and very passionate about being a pilot.
(0) I think I’m a capable pilot, but I’m also very willing to learn and cooperate. I understand that an appreciation for safety and standardization are very important.

71
Q

How will you deal with missing birthdays and holidays?

A

72
Q

Which domicile would you prefer?

A
