what is opinion ?
is a view, a judgment or an appraisal about a particular matter.
what is assertion ?
is a statement used to make a declaration or to express strong belief on a particular topic.
-An assertion can be formulated after reading a story, or a poem, and even after watching a play.
what is basic assertion ?
-is a statement directly to express as writer`s opinion or belief. It is also known as straightforward statement.
-is a type of assertion that directly expresses a writer’s opinion or belief.
what is emphatic assertion ?
is a statement used to express or give empathy to someone. It states how the writer conveys understanding of someone.
what is language assertion ?
is statement used to express the preference of the writer. The purpose is to suggest and conveys the writer`s negative opinion to a text
- it is also called “I- Language” because the writer uses the pronoun “I”.
what is claim ?
is a sentence or statement that asserts an idea, an opinion, a judgement or a point of view- that the speaker wants you to accept
what is claim of fact ?
-is a statement about how things were in the past, how they are in the present, or how they will be in the future.
-A claim of fact is not a fact, it only claims to be a fact
claim of fact are opinion drawn by inference and can be objectively proven
what is claim of value ?
-is an arguable statement concerning the relative merits of something which is measured subjectively.
-A claim of value can be arguable because different people may disagree in the criteria used to evaluate something.
what is claim of policy ?
-is a statement regarding the merits of a course of action to take. This type of statement usually makes use of the word “should.”
-this is the plan of action that must be taken in order to solve a problem.

-is a statement about how things were in the past, how they are in the present, or how they will be in the future.
-These are also statements that report, describe, predict, or make causal claims.

-is an arguable statement concerning the relative merits of something which is measured subjectively.
-These are also statements that advance judgments about morality, beauty, merit, or wisdom.
what is claim of policy ? (2)
is a statement regarding the merits of a course of action to take. It urges that an action be taken or discontinued.
