What is the most common presenting age for a squint?
2-3 years
Which extra-ocular muscles are affected if the double vision is horizontal (side by side) and vertical (one above the other)?
Horizontal - horizontal muscles (superior/inferior rectus and superior/inferiro oblique)
Vertical - vertical muscles (lateral and medial rectus)
What is the most common cause for nerve palsies in >65y?
Vascular causes (then trauma and tumours)
What type of sight does a myope have, and what kind of lens and prescription would they have?
Short-sighted - they would have a concave lens, as normally light hits anterior to retina, with a negative prescription
What type of sight does a hypermetrope have, and what kind of lens and prescription would they have?
Long-sighted - they would have a convex lens (as light normal hits behind retina) and a positive prescription
