What is the most recent RAF operation?
Operation Pitting, 13-28 August 2021. It was the military support to the evacuation of British nationals and former British staff eligible for relocation under the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy. It was achieved through the force protection of Kabul International Airport and the Air Bridge Transport from Afghanistan to the UK. Involved were Joint Movements Squadron from Number 1 Air Mobility Wing supporting 906 Expeditionary Air Wing. The end result was the successful evacuation of over 15,000 Afghans and British nations as part of one of the largest airlifts in history.

Operation Biloxi, 8 April to 8 September 2021. RAF detachment conducting the NATO enhanced Air Policing Mission in Romania. 121 Expeditionary Air Wing was based at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base and supported Romanian Air Force Quick Reaction Alert. During the deployment 4x Typhoons of 9 Squadron launched nine times against suspect aircraft. The mission also provided an opportunity for training with allied and partner forces, this included Air Defence Exercise with NATO warships, Close Air Support with land forces, and Air Combat Training with other NATO air forces.
