What capacity can a dry riser mains and a wet riser main deliver?
DRMs can deliver at least 1500 lpm
WRMs can deliver at 1500 lpm for 45 minutes minimum
What considerations should be made by the IC with regards to water supplies?
IC must consider the building construction, size, layout and fire load
At larger incidents they must consider the optimum means to provide the overall quantity of water required
MDTs will provide the location of hydrants, size of mains and location

Communication with bridge head and pump operators
Fire sprinkler systems are fitted with main stop valves. A FF must be sent to isolate
Guidelines for using a Fire lift
Designated fire lifts are safe to use during an incident
Teams must exit the fire lift at least 2 floors below
If fire location is unknown this must be approached via staircase
Firefighting lifts should remain at the established bridgehead
Guidelines for setting up a Bridgehead and fire sector
Bridgehead should be set up two floors below unless the building is designed for safe air to be maintained
Bridgehead to be established in a lobby and not in a corridor
Consideration should be given to smoke spread through doors
Minimum crew manager must be nominated for fire sector commander
Minimum of 3 firefighters to bridgehead BAx2 and ECO
