How to write an Introduction?

A

(TARTS)
T - Title (‘Romeo & Juliet’ is a catastrophe filled,)
A - Author/Director (Baz Luhrmann)
R - Refer to Task/Question and Scene (containing a Tension-filled scene where I get to see…)
T - Thoughts (Opinion) (I really enjoyed this because…)
S - Summary of Plot/Techniques (Connected to Thoughts ^, “because…”)

Begin from using all the techniques (At least 12, 3 in each PEEL.) How to use PEEL?

A

P - Point (Remember to mention the theme e.g. “Tension” there is only 1 point.
E - Evidence - Mention the technique and then speak about what’s happening that is in relation to the technique.
E - Explain - State the effect (Makes the audience view them as relaxed.)
L - Link - This is a mini conclusion for every paragraph there is only 1 Link.

REMEMBER TO REFER TO THE TOPIC QUESTION IN THE INTRODUCTION, CONCLUSION AND EVERY BEGINNING SENTENCE PARAGRAPH, AND MENTION IT AT THE END! (P AND L)

  • A wipe - From right to left to reveal the Montague boys in a bright car. - This is reminiscent of a stage curtain symbolising the opening of a play. Luhrmann wants the audience to know that they are watching a play.

Costume - Montague boys in bright garish coloured shirts, the paintwork on the car is illuminating to the eyes. - Continues the theatrical theme, and expresses a distinct contrast after a violent quick cut.

Overall I found that this part of the scene grabbed my attention because I didn’t expect the relaxing atmosphere from the Montague boys after witnessing a dramatic prologue with violence. That is why I believe this very first scene was great at INSERT TOPIC QUESTION

High-angle Shot - Of the chaos that these two warring factions are having on the city of Verona - The audience gets a bird’s eye view of the chaos and destruction being caused by the family fueds.
