No person shall set or maintain a fire in open air UNLESS?
- They obtain what ?
- Issued by whom ?
- What is the ONLY excemption (with rules)
- There is ONE profession that gets a permit bc its normal
- HE has a permit
- issued by the Fire Chief under this by-law
- OR falls within exemption set out in section 04 (cooking)
- Farming (NEEDS PERMIT)

ONLY cooking doesn’t need a permit !!!

VERY IMPORTANT
The by-law
Where a permit HAS been obtained under subsection (1), NO person shall set or maintain a fire in the open air: ??
- Between what times?

- When wind velocity is greater than ?
- Ensure there is a competant person to do what ?
- Ensuring what before leaving ?

- Between Sunset and Sunrise (at night)
- One (1) Meter in height, One (1) meter in area
- At a distance of less than ten (10) metres from any building , structure, hedge, fence, vehicular roadway or overhead wire or obstruction of any kind or nature whatsoever
- If the wind velocity is greater than twenty-four (24) kilometres per hour
- Ensuring that a person competent to supervise such fire and to extinguish it promptly in the event of danger of the spread of such fire is in constant immediate attendance at the specific place where the fire is burning;
- Without ensuring such fire is completely extinguished before leaving the specific place where the fire was burning
- Unless there is a space free and clear of combustible material around the perimeter of such fire of at least five (5) metres;
- Where that fire contains rubber tires, plastic products or other building materials that are known to create extensive smoke
- Unless he complies with all the relevant provisions of the Environmental Protection Act
