A 1932 document sponsored by the Presbyterian mission board that denied exclusivityof the gospel. Missions became to be about humanitarian aid
When did Machen and others found the Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Mission?
In 1933 as a response to changes in the denominational mission board
What was the Presbyterian Constitutional Covenant Union?
A group formed in 1935 as a response to the Board of Foreign Missions controversies. It sought to combat the influence of the Auburn Affirmation group and to protest the Independent Board member trials.
How many ministers and teaching elders originally constituted the OPC?
34 ministers and 17 elders. Machen was elected as the moderator
Who was the earliest fundamentalist party of the OPC?
- Composed of Carl McIntire, who was a dispensationalist
- J. Oliver Buswell and Allan MacRae. Not dispensational, but was premillennialist. Believed churches were free to use the Scofield Reference Bible. Also believed in abstinence from liquor, tobacco, movies, dancing, and cards
When did the OPC vote against the 1903 WCF additions?
In 1936 at the second GA.
When was the Bible Presbyterian Synod formed and why?
Buswell and others formed it in 1938 in response to the OPC not condemning alcohol usage in 1937

On January 1, 1937 from pneumonia
What was the original name of the OPC and when did it change?
Originally was the Presbyterian Church of America, but after being taking to court by the Presbyterian Church in the USA, the name was changed to the OPC in 1939

When was New Life Presbyterian Church formed and when did many of its churches join the PCA?
It was formed in 1973 in Jenkintown, PA, with many congregations joining the PCA in 1987
What was “Seedtime” in the New Horizons magazine?
A segment in New Horizons that sought to think how to interact with church visitors. Much was from the New Life Network perspective
Why was the CHMCE controversial in the 80s?
Because many thought it was neglecting the confessional heritage of the OPC by commodifying the church.

Who was the first OPC missionary to Korea?
Bruce Hunt. After much faithful service, he was arrested in 1941. Eventually released, but then put in concentration camps during the war. Released again and eventually returned to teach in the Korean Seminary
When was the Committee on Foreign Missions founded?
1936 at the first GA
Who was Karl Dortzbach?
A missionary to Eritrea in the 70s, whose pregnant wife was kidnapped. She was returned eventually. The mission to Eritrea was temporally shut down
