Outline how you would perform a salpingo-oophorectomy

• Identify tube and ovary.
• Identify same-side ureter
  
  • Perform ureterolysis if difficulties identifying ureter is away from IP ligament. Open peritoneum from the level of the round ligament to the pelvic brim. Use push and spread technique to develop the avascular pararectal space until the ureter is identified.
• Create a peritoneal window in posterior leaf of broad ligament to isolate the IP ligament.
• Ligasure IP ligament
• Ligaure utero-ovarian ligament and mesosalpinx that anchors the tube to the broad ligament.
• Place specimen in extract bag if doing laparoscopically.
