What are some interesting things about billiards?

A

If Earth were the size of a billiard ball, it’d be smoother.
Billiard balls used to be made of ivory, as it was the perfect material at the time for bouncing off rails, other balls, etc. the highest grade ivory, at that. It was even called billiard-ball ivory. Could only get about billiard balls from the average tusk. Prize of 10,000 (~$3 million) was offered to whoever could come up with an alternative to ivory—this indirectly inspired the invention of celluloid.

What is the significance of the song Baba Yetu?

A

It was the theme song for Civ IV and was the first piece of music composed for a video game to win a Grammy (in 2011). Composer Christopher Tin mentioned it in his acceptance speech. The lyrics are a Swahili translation of the Lord’s Prayer.
