What are the differences between Media/Essence data and Metadata?
Media/Essence data are forms of multimedia data that are essential to a multimedia program, and that can be perceived directly by an audience i.e. audio, video, graphics, etc.
Metadata provides supplementary information about media data.
What is an MXF file?
MXF is a media file format containing actual video and audio media.
How are embedded OMF/AAF sequences different from externally referenced sequences?
Embedded OMF/AAF sequences result in one large file containing both the metadata and all the associated media files.
Externally referenced sequences result in a single metadata file (.omf or .aaf) and all associated media stored as separate files (similar to the Pro Tools session structure).
What six ways can an OMF/AAF sequence be imported into Pro Tools?
Import the OMF/AAF sequence into an open Pro Tools session.
