OMB Flashcards
When may reduced thrust not be used for takeoff?
OMB 4.5.3 Runway contaminated or dispatch with the landing gear extended.
What are the minimum takeoff climb gradients?
OMB 4.4.2 Second segment 2.4% gross. Final segment 1.2% gross.
When is the use of reverse thrust assumed?
OMB 4. Dry runway - no reverse credit. WET OR CONTAMINATED - MAX reverse thrust on the operative engine is assumed in the rejected takeoff case.
When is a new loading form required?
OMB 7.4. When the LMC exceeds plus 10 / minus 20 passengers.
What is the extra fuel burn associated with EAI and EAI + WAI?
OMB 5. - CRUISE OR CLIMB EAI = 1.1kg/min, EAI+WAI = 2kg/min, HOLDING EAI 2kg/min, EAI+WAI 3kg/min
What distance must a takeoff alternate be?
OMB 5.2.2 - 320nm
What distance must an adequate aerodrome be at all times?
OMB 5.1 - A319 380nm, A320/321 400nm
What is the approach ban?
OMB 2.3 The final approach segment may not be continued beyond 1000ft if reported RVR is below the published minima or into the final approach segment if the MDA/DH is above 1000ft above the aerodrome.
What is the specific gravity of JET A1?
OMB 6.4 - easyJet specific gravity for JET A1 fuel is 0.8 kg/litre.
Can we takeoff on a runway reported as ‘slippery wet’?
OMB 4.5 - Yes provided ‘slippery wet’ is selected in the RWY COND. CM1 must be PF. Max crosswind limit is 25kts.
What are the calls for an Emergency landing?
OMB 3.80.5 - “Cabin crew take up landing positions” passing 2000ft, “Brace, Brace” 500ft, “Attention crew, brace brace” when an unplanned emergency landing is imminent.
What are the First Officer operating limits?
OMB 2.1 - Max X-wind including gusts 20kts, no planned tailwind landings for 3* FOs, no flap 3 landings for 3* FOs, takeoff minima 400m RVR, approach minimum CATI for ILS, published minima for non-prec, 5000m visibility for circling, min runway width 45m, no contaminated runway or slippery condition, no reported windshear, no autoland for normal operations.
TCAS what is the maximum rate recommended when reaching altitude and as from when do you take it?
1500ft/min VS, 2000ft prior to level off.
When do we set ENG mode selector to IGN?
When starting the engines.
When the runway is covered with standing water.
When heavy rain is falling.
When heavy rain or turbulence expected after takeoff, during approach or go-around.
What is the screen height - dry and wet?
OMB 4.4.3
35ft from a dry runway
15ft from a wet or contaminated runway
