DUMBWAITER SHAFT FIRES.

A

-1st and 2nd due assignments remain the same

  • check top floor, cockloft and cellar ASAP
  • if heavy smoke is venting out of a dumbwaiter bulkhead , the ROOF FF should inform his/her officer
  • if fire is reported in dumbwaiter shaft, roof FF SHOULD VENT DUMBWAITER BULKHEAD (fire , not smoke)
  • if ROOF FF vents dumbwaiter bulkhead and does not see any appreciable volume of smoke venting, notify officer, may be a blockage
  • if dumbwaiter bulkhead has been removed/tarred over, notify officer, this could result in rapid extension to cockloft
  • members should not place any part of their body in the shaft
