What are the 4 groups of the Old Testament?
Pentateuch, historical, prophets, wisdom
What are the 5 groups of the New Testament?
Gospels, acts of the apostles, letters of St. Paul, letters, revelation.
What is inspired writing
It is writing that God inspired the authors of the bible to use their own skills and reveal the plan of salvation.
Define covenant
It is a solemn promise that signifies total commitment of both sides
Define Canaan
It is a land that God promised to Abraham known as the Promised Land.
Define Passover.
The last supper that Jesus had with his disciples before the day he was crucified.
Define the Ten Commandments
They are commandment engraved on stone tablets given to Moses on Mount Sinai
Define Exile
The division of Israel into two kingdoms continued for two hundred years.
Define monotheism
A belief in one God
Key event of David
David wanted to go to war to help his brother and to defeat the army, but he wasn’t allowed to because he was too small. This did not matter to him as he defeated the Goliath.
Key event of Abraham
Abraham was very close to God and was given the land of Canaan, or known as the Promised Land.
Key event of Joseph
He was sold into slavery by his brothers, but later on, was found again in bad condition, and invited to live with his brothers again.
Key event of Moses
He was chosen by God to lead the slaves of Egypt to be treated well by God. He parted the sea and went across the deserts with Christs power

What is the temple
A structure that was completed by Solomon about 1000bc. It was known as the centre of Jewish life.
