It resolves with a perfect cadence (IV-V-I)
What happens vocally in the first verse?
Lines 4-6 are a sequenced version of line 3. You then think that pattern is beginning again but then moves to chromatic imitation with the last line being completely on the tonic (D)
What happens orchestrally in the first verse?
Starts just strings with a falling 2nd and 4th line in chords. The chords are played offbeat with a snare emphasison a call an response rhythm. The clarinet then joins in on line 8

A link passafe the includes a Bbm scale modulating to Db major

What happens orchestrally in the chrous?
Scalic walking bass line with clarinets playing offbeat chords and imitating line 3 exactly. The strings then mimic the melody and play an arpeggiated run in a call and response fashion
What happens inbetween chorus 1 and 2?
There is a link passage modulating back to D major
What happens vocally in chorus 2?
The women do a countermelody on high register (representing the wind)
What happens in the last chorus?
The brass and percussion join in making it have a big-band feel/ a march with the trumoer following the melody
